Saturday, April 18, 2009wrangle tangle
A slow start this morning since whilst recovering the sea anchor it became apparent it had become tangled up with a fishing net, and the retrieval line had unattatched itself. So 2 and a half hours later having cut all the ensnaring netting off the anchor line and untangled and untwisted about 200m of line, rowing could begin... I realised part way through this process that it was not in fact a fishing net but a spool of twine that had been washed overboard during the storm and tangled everything...what a palava. Good hint for les poisson though to carry a fine titanium diving knife. This would put and end to their troubles with fishing nets, though one wonders how a fish would wield a knife most effectively... Still we move South , though we did make a littlte easting today and hopefully we will make a bit of n tomorrow.. We were accompanied by fine drizzle and a fur seal porpoising alongside for a while this afternoon. It is good to be rowing againposted by Olly Hicks @ 6:25 PM
